USO

 

El verbo SER (SOY, ES, ERES, SON, SOMOS) se usa en los casos siguientes:

• Para decir lo que hacemos: la profesión.

EJEMPLO:

I’m an English teacher.

 

• Para decir dónde vivimos; pueblo, ciudad o país.

EJEMPLO:

She’s from Italy.

 

• Para decir la nacionalidad.

EJEMPLO:

We’re Mexican.

 

• Para descripciones de personas y cosas.

EJEMPLO:

The flowers are beautiful.

 

• Para expresar dónde se localizan personas o cosas.

EJEMPLO:

Rio de Janeiro is in Brazil.

 

 

Lo siguientes son dos casos particulares donde usamos ( es, son):

• Para hablar del clima.

EJEMPLO:

It’s very sunny and hot today.

 

• Para decir la hora.

EJEMPLO:
